Why do creationists ask for proof of evolution and then ignore the answers?

Science has this annoying (for them) habit of producing something called “The God Of The Gaps”.
So those stories are now “Allegories” - not “Gospel Truth” - so God got a little smaller again.
When we figured out that little Timmy died because a bacteria invaded his body from the dirty water in the well that we all drink from - and it WASN’T God needing him for some higher purpose in heaven…well, that reduced the significance of God.
What would happen if the Earth stopped spinning for one minute?
All of Genesis is complete an utter twaddle. Not one word of it fits with the evidence.
And all of this is because they are all really pissed that science seems to disagree with them and provides an annoying amount of convincing evidence that their entire, fictitious world-view does not fit the available facts.
Sure - we still have a few loose ends to tie up - but they’re getting tied. Quantum Gravity - Dark Matter/Energy…that kind of thing. Not stuff that matters in the slightest on a day-to-day basis.
We just make sure we have clean water - and fewer people died…so God got a little smaller that day.

Then the Flat Earthers find it necessary to deny most of space flight - so they overlap handily with the Moon Landing deniers.

We now understand that “The Garden of Eden” and “Noah’s Ark” are just stories - they have absolutely no grounding in fact.
Even fundamental morality can be reduced to “Do as you would like others to do unto you.” - and for good sociologically defensible reasons.
The evidence for evolution is utterly overwhelming - and the creationists are really as stubbornly stupid as the Flat Earthers.

Weird! I don’t get it at all.
It’s not surprise that people who’s entire world-view is shrouded in “FAITH!!” find this situation intolerable…so they simply deny any and all facts and proofs - ignore all debunkings…because they’ve somehow arrived at this belief that “FAITH” is absolutely everything…and therefore facts and proofs and evidence of all kind can and must be ignored.
The role of a supernatural being was important in Medieval society because they had zero explanations for most of the things that happened in their lives. Diseases and bad weather events were “The Work of God” - and were done for some unfathomable reason.
Because they are religious nuts and they’ve already decided what the answer is - based on their dusty old book and the highly dubious mental practice of “faith” - which basically means “Believe what you’ve been told and don’t worry your pretty little head thinking about the alternatives!”
And those overlap the global warming deniers and the anti-vaxxers.
Religion doesn’t need to exist anymore - it doesn’t explain a single thing…it’s almost entirely debunked.
Meanwhile, the wonder that is the world and the greater universe around us - fits together with the simplest of principles. The conservation laws, Newton’s laws, Einsteins fix for those laws, the Standard Model of particle physics…and not a whole lot else.
But as science grew and gradually got a foot-hold on finding explanations for these things.
The Venn Diagram of Creationists and Flat Earthers has a hell of a lot of overlap…which is for a reason. Bible Literalists are behind most of their combined nonsense.
Now, here in the 21st century - we can explain very nearly everything from the beginning of time itself - to the universe around us today - and all without any supernatural involvement.
It’s kinda ironic that all of these people believe that some giant conspiracy is trying to hide the truth from them - yet in their efforts to reveal that conspiracy - they’re handily ignoring the giant effort to show the truth to them as clearly as possible.
Well - enjoy your ignorance - and try to ignore the fact that the device you’re reading this on only works because we understand Quantum theory - and probably contains a GPS that only works because (a) Satellites are NOT faked by NASA, (b) Relativity actually works.
There are really no “gaps” for a God to hide in.
